PRACTICE proposal is based on the outcomes of the FADERTIC project (“Training – an open and distance based tutoring for Rural Development Agents, based on the use of Information and Communication Technologies”), co-financed by the EU and the Leonardo da Vinci Agency in Spain (http://fadertic.iniciativas-innovadoras.es).
The promoter of the Project was INICIATIVAS INNOVADORAS SAL, who also promotes the current project. The final result of the Project was the development of a tool known as “FADERTIC”, a web based distance self-learning tool with a tutoring system and consisting of several modules, which was validated following its implementation in 5 pilot cases.
This approach was applied to the context of New Member States, and a diagnosis was carried out on the training needs of rural development agents. In addition to suffering from larger deficiencies, these are even more urgent due to the imminence of the starting of the LEADER strategy in these countries. The response to these contexts therefore requires innovative solutions to be applied, using flexible tools open to as many potential agents as possible, such as FADERTIC.
INICIATIVAS INNOVADORAS SAL made a consultation round and confirmed with the partners of the Project the diagnosis of the training needs of this sector. The 7 partners involved decided to place their bets on the adaptation and dissemination of the FADERTIC tool in their respective countries and accepted to actively participate as partners.
In consequence, a commom target was decided: to transfer and adapt the FADERTIC tool and its training contents to the educational context of the new states, introducing major improvements:
- The training is oriented to the implementation of the LEADER strategy, which shall have a direct impact on the implementation of projects and strategies within the framework of this initiative;
- The building of the PracticeNet Community, whose objective is to promote and exploit the results of the new platform, seeking the adherence of new associations and the continuous improvement of the tool.
